CCB Office-Based Services (Bethanien Hospital, Markus Hospital)

The CCB Diabetes Unit offers a multidisciplinary treatment of glycaemic control and diabetic complications, particularly the diabetic foot syndrome.

Due to the interdisciplinary structure of our physicians, the CCB Diabetes Unit is able to perform either outpatient or inpatient treatment, as required. The team includes diabetologists, diabetes and nutrition nurses, wound managers, podiatrists and orthopaedic shoemakers.

The CCB Pacemaker Center is one of the largest in Europe with more than 1000 implantations per year. Implantations of all types of pacemakers and defibrillators are performed, including the following services:

- Placement of permanent pacemakers and defibrillators

- Cardiac re-synchronisation therapy (CRT) in advanced heart failure

- Cardiac contractility modulation (CCM) therapy

- Laser extraction of pacemaker leads

- Pacemaker interrogations

- Defibrillator interrogations

- Remote monitoring of implanted devices (Telemedicine)
CCB Pacemaker Center (Bethanien Hospital)

About 5500 invasive procedures are performed in the 4 CCB catheterization labs per year. Each lab is equipped with state-of-the-art digital x-ray machines and offers the following services:

- Cardiac catheterization

- Interventional cardiology (including balloon dilatation, stent implantation, rotational atherectomy, thrombectomy)

- Intravascular ultrasound (IVUS)

- Acute interventions in myocardial infarction (24/7 service)

- Use of intra-aortic balloon pump in cardiogenic shock

- Valvuloplasty of aortic and mitral valve

- Transcatheter aortic valve implantation (TAVI)

- Transcatheter repair of mitral valve insufficiency (MitraClip)

- Endomyocardial biopsy
CCB Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory (Bethanien Hospital, Markus Hospital)

The CCB Vascular Center is a team of professionals who focus on the medical, endovascular and surgical treatment of patients with vascular disease. Emphasis is put on the following services:

- Cerebrovascular duplex carotid ultrasound

- Vascular consultation

- Peripheral venous duplex ultrasound

- Peripheral arterial (segmentals/PVR/treadmill)

- Peripheral arterial duplex ultrasound

- Abdominal arterial ultrasound

- Bypass graft duplex ultrasound

- Dialysis graft/AV fistula duplex ultrasound

- Visceral/renal artery duplex ultrasound

- Peripheral vascular angioplasty

- Minimally invasive lower extremity revascularization including:

-          Carotid angioplasty and stenting

-          Endoluminal laser therapy for varicose vein treatment

-          Endovascular repair (EVAR/TEVAR) of abdominal aortic aneurysm (AAA) and thoracic aortic  aneurysm/dissection
CCB Vascular Center (Bethanien Hospital)

The CCB Electrophysiology Team provides full service to individuals with arrhythmias. In two fully equipped electrophysiology labs (3D electroanatomic mapping systems: CARTO and NAVX, rotational angiography), approximately 900 procedures are performed per year.

The team offers particular expertise in catheter ablation of simple to highly complex arrhythmias, such as atrial fibrillation and ventricular tachycardias. Furthermore, left atrial appendage occlusion and renal denervation procedures are offered to our patients. During the procedure patients are fully sedated to enhance procedural comfort. Highlights of the CCB-Electrophysiology Center include:

- Catheter ablation of all supraventricular tachycardias

- Catheter ablation of atrial fibrillation, ventricular tachycardia

- Active clinical research in the field of electrophysiology

- Novel ablation strategies and energy sources (Cryoballoon, Laserballoon. Contact Force)

- Left atrial appendage occlusion to avoid oral anticoagulation in selected patients

- Renal denervation in drug resistant hypertension

- Training center of the EHRA (European Heart Rhythm Association)
Electrophysiology Center (Markus Hospital)

The CCB Imaging Centers offer the following advanced technology for non-invasive imaging of the coronary arteries and the heart:

- 1.5 T latest-generation MRI scanner

- 64 row CT scanner CCB MRI / CT Center (Bethanien Hospital)

The Cardiac Rehabilitation program at CCB helps patients to quickly recover and return to full and productive lives after a heart attack, heart surgery, coronary angioplasty, angina or a related health problem.

This unit is located at “CCB HERZWERK”, the CCB Health and Fitness Unit.
